ZYDECO JUMP are back for another very special show at Archie’s Creek.
In 1989 Zydeco Jump first hit the Melbourne music scene at the Esplanade Hotel on a Sunday afternoon and played there every Sunday afternoon for the next 9 years. These performances are now the stuff of legend. It was a full house every week and the dance floor was jumping.
Zydeco Jump are very excited to announce that they will be joined by extraordinary multi-instrumentalist and singer, Gerry Hale. Gerry re joins the band after 30 years! Gerry, who is well remembered for his wonderful bluegrass band, “Gerry Hale’s Uncle Bill” played with Zydeco Jump over a number of years both at the Esplanade Hotel and around the country at festivals. This was a period when Zydeco Jump took a turn towards Cajun and Creole under Gerry’s influence and successfully integrated the sounds and rhythms of Zydeco with the more fiddle dominated music of the Cajuns of South West Louisiana.
