One of the most innovative and enduring songwriters of the twentieth century, Scott Walker was widely recognised as one of pop’s great adventurers. From his chart-topping years with The Walker Brothers and his time as one of the most recognisable pop stars of the 1960s, through to periods of retreat and an increasingly fearless solo career, Walker remained strange, beautiful, uncompromising and entirely original.

His work inspired generations of musicians, from David Bowie, Brian Eno and Pulp to Radiohead and countless others. Moving far beyond his early pop success, Walker created a remarkable catalogue that travelled from sweeping orchestral ballads to some of the most challenging and visionary music of his era. The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore – The Songs of Scott Walker was created by promoter Lorena Miguélez shortly after Walker’s death in 2019. A devoted admirer of his work, Lorena chose the title both for its connection to one of his best-known songs and because it reflected how she felt at the time. Now presented by Luna Live and musically directed by Stephen Hadley, the show returns for two special performances.

Four acclaimed Australian singers – Rob Snarski, Dave Graney, Moogy and Dave Bowers –will each perform three songs, bringing their own voice and interpretation to Walker’s extraordinary catalogue. They will be joined by an exceptional band featuring Stephen Hadley on bass and musical direction, Clare Moore on drums, Jack Howard on trumpet, Shane Reilly on pedal steel guitar and Bruce Haymes on piano. Together, they will celebrate the music of The Walker Brothers and Scott Walker’s solo career: a body of work that remains haunting, romantic, mysterious and unlike anything else.
