Short Poppies are the reincarnation of one of Wonthaggi’s best known bands of the 80’s, Men Possessed. They played just as the name says, and when they weren’t ripping up the bass coast swells, they were tearing up the stages at the thriving pub band scene across the region.

Fast forward a few years…

Knowing these songs were too good to be relegated to the bin of forever lost classics, the band has jabbed the adrenalin pump straight through the rib cage and risen from the ashes. They’ve cranked up the amps and brought their original blend of guitar-based jangle pop and pub rock back to where it belongs - the stage.

New name and a tweaked line-up - same big sound and experience of the 80’s live music scene that brought our region alive.
