Much loved Irish troubadour Luka Bloom is a master of the concert stage and Archies Creek is thrilled to welcome him back to the stage this March.
Luka's incredibly gifted electro-acoustic guitar playing guarantees an impassioned live performance of his original, poetic and melodic songs. Luka’s concert arsenal includes both tender and dynamic original material and a surprisingly eclectic selection of other people’s work. Over the years Bloom has brought his inspiring lyrics and sumptuous melodies to clubs, theatres, festivals, bars and arenas all over the world, but he has a special place in his heart for Australian audiences and has earned a devoted following in this country. A must see!
A message from Luka Bloom...
Greetings Australia, from Ireland.
So, here's the thing.......... My last tour in 2024 was my 15th, and probably my favourite tour of Australia. It was the longest; I think 28 concerts.
I carried a wee secret during that whole journey. About 3 weeks before the tour began in February 2024, I was diagnosed with a major heart issue, requiring full-on open heart surgery. I asked the doctor how long did I have before I needed to take this REALLY seriously. (Australia was in my mind). Surgery was needed within a year, preferably less than that.
So, off I went, singing my way around your beautiful country, knowing that I was going home to 'interesting' times...... The surgery happened in November '24. It took about 6-8 months to begin to sing again. During that time I wondered would I ever see Australia again, ever sing there again.
In preparation for the surgery, I decided that being positive was important.
So, while my energy was degrading, I wrote and recorded 15 songs and instrumentals. It was important in advance, to celebrate the surgeons, doctors and nurses, BEFORE they did their job.
So, in May 2025, on my 70th birthday, I released my 25th album, called A Second Wind. In July 2025, I returned to the Mater hospital in Dublin and performed the album for the doctors, nurses of that great place, who took such great care of me.
And now I am preparing for my 16th tour of Australia in Feb-April 2027....It is called The Second Wind Tour, because that is what I have been given.
